Yo yoo.. watched your film Gary .. I have family in Muirhouse was there my self in the 80s and 90s .. proper f up .. my grand dad killed my grand mother in that area.. my mum of 13 brothers and sisters all went to care homes and was sexually abused and it fkt my whole family .. out of my mums siblings only 2 left .. it was rough and very hard to see .. got family still living there now .. my mum couldn’t give a fck about me then or now.. I honestly think what happened to not just Gary’s family but family’s around Wester hails Muirhouse leith etc there was so much poverty everywhere.. I lost my father due to heroin and my brother and cousins and uncles and Aunty’s .. I hate the stuff so bad .. for sure a whole generation has gone .. people blamed it on the Irish mob.. my father was selling that stuff all around those areas in the 70s and 80s.. he died when I was 4 years old.. only have a little memory of him and it wasn’t good 👍🏻

I think that this guy wants people to think that he is a badass from a badass area, the reality is that the scheme he refers to is mostly populated with hard working people, mostly tax paying Eastern Europeans, there have been some incidents where some silly schoolboys have stolen scooters but on the whole it is mostly a quite place, I went out with a girl from there years ago and it was rough back then, unemployment and drugs ect, but over the last few years it has been cleaned up, and many good projects have came about like the homeless village, most of the junkies live in temporary accommodation, around about the Leith area but there is so much help available to them now. Having lived here for years and worked here I have seen everything change for the better, and it annoys me when I hear people boasting about drugs and violence ect when there are far worse places and it is like a slap in the face to those who have made a difference.

Which will make the crime rate and drug use rise. Those silly school boys you are talking about are around 12 and are the little brothers and sons of the gangsters, drug dealers and nutters that still live and run Muirhouse. Muirhouse was worse in the 80s 90s but so was everywhere. Just because they knocked down all the old flats doesn't mean it all went away. Would you walk through that "quiet place" at midnight on a Saturday night on your mobile phone?
