I don't know about postgraduate entry, but I'm here undergraduate from America (all four years), and there are tonnes of international postgrads. The main thing is passion, dedication, and a good command of English.

You can apply to multiple programmes within the university for your UCAS, if you're really set on coming here. I chose 5 different unis, but that's up to you.

Just got an offer to study Psychology here! YAY! I'm really happy, this uni looks great. For me it's between this and Glasgow uni, but I think I might go with Edinburgh!

The fact that the Scottish accent needs subtitles is brilliant!
@keepbeingPhat14 жыл бұрын
@UseAsDirected100 Well doesn't that depend on what kind of course you're into? American universities focuses on their students being broad - UK universities at least (dunno the other ones) are much more specific in their requirements. As they say, US unis want people who does everything. UK unis want people who would "live and die" for their subjects. It's a matter of preference.

Excellent, Norwegian is the one I plan on doing! You guys using Ny i Norge btw? I managed to get a hold of it and the audio and might dip into it soon but doing a French Open U course right now which is eating up my time a bit! Need to do some more qualifications before I can get a place though, since at 22 I am classed as a mature student...
@katanamanatee15 жыл бұрын
Aghh, need to wait one more year... Will hopefully be studying an MA in Scandinavian Studies with Linguistics from September 2010. I already have enough qualifications thankfully and at least I have plenty of time to improve upon my Norwegian. :)

Everything will help. You need to show a passion, outstanding dedication and have things that make you YOU. Things that differentiate you from other candidates. Work hard on your personal statement, Edinburgh put a lot of weight into that. :) Good luck!!

Hi anna, I got an unconditional for the course so they didn't ask me for any grades. However, I do have a friend who got a conditional for psychology and has to get AA at Higher this year. His 5th year results were something along the lines of ABBBC or ABBCC, I believe. Hope that helps! =)

Norway is indeed awesome, I'm half Norwegian myself and love visiting there! I can speak a fair bit but unfortunately the beaurocracy is holding me back as they seem to think if you haven't exercised your mind in learning a new qualification after you turn 21, then your brain must have melted out through your ears... I'll just have to put up with it, it'll be worth the wait and at least it means I can hone my study skills for a foreign language. How's the history element of it?

Thing is with top unis like edinurgh, the courses they offer there like classical studies. Whats the point!? Seriously whats the point in learning an overly complex course like quantum physics if u can take a course that will actually get u somewhere

@amosbcfamos Nice, I am actually learning Portuguese (Brasilian) at the moment. Applied for MA (pure) Economics possibly joined with SCANDINAVIAN studies. What are your other 4 choices? Mine are: Royal holloway, Bristol, Glasgow & St. Andrews (would do anything to get into scottish uni as tuition fees would be waved; I'm applying as a E.U student -gangsta huh?) oi tudo bem? ah ah ah!

Racism simply doesn't happen here. There are far too many people from far parts of the world... it's impossible to have bastion of hate when you truly know about each others' cultures. I'd actually say we pro-actively create cultural understanding. PS, I'm from WV. I'm studying here for four years. Trust me, you'll be welcomed with open arms.

The Foreign Agents Registration Act within the United States has an exemption for scholars whom are assiting in the international effort of democratic standards for education of higher learning. The United Kingdom has debated the Data Protection Act of 1998 as I have also done. As researched by the most profound legal experts, at their best should know how the conflict of law and Constitutional rule of law affect the educational system and foreign policy of United States-UK agreed? Disagree?
