But this was Dragunov and Feng all over the place as well. Also King is a piece of... as well in this game. Hope they finally nerf him next patch. After last patch I would even rank King in the Top 5 characters they left him untouched and did nerf some of the best characters after all.

@@DekemaStokes 1. Absurd damage combo wise and from CH options and dont let me start ranting how SSS tier he becomes on stages with stage hazards. 2. Best lows in the game with absurd range 3. One of the best CH in the game with again absurd dmg 4. Way to good Heat smash, people Complain about DVJ HS but Kings seems perfect. Atleast they did nerf it a little bit damage wise. 5. His throw game is better than ever because its 100% dmg, no recover option. 6. His Punish options are complete. 7. Thank good his Power crush is atleast - 10 because damn its strong. 8. He even has great pokes like Really? Does he have any weakness? Also great homing moves.

1. Most of his counterhits aren't guaranteed, just makes his grabs harder to break but Bryan still full comboes from any of his 200 counterhit strings, I agree on the stage thing but a lot of other characters become stupid too 2. King has only one good low which is ffn2 and is immensely sidesteppable 3. Again, Bryan does it better while having unblockable setups and a hatchet which tracks quite a lot 4. His heat smash is really good but you can't compare it to Devil Jins which was fullscreen homing, plus on block into mixup, after blocking Kings Heat Smash, the 50/50 is not real, the RKO is reactable 5. Agree on that, since he's the throw guy, but I mean he should be allowed to have something right? Also characters like Dragunov benefit from it too 6. Despite having a good 12f on b1,2 his while standing punish isn't that great, its either ws4 at 11 or ws22 at -14 7. Linear, high and -13 8. His pokes are great because he needs to keep his opponents from ducking, which happens a lot, but he has no evasiveness except for ffn2, and again, the character with the worst movement in the game

I think King is great online but in tourney imho he is B tier at best until we see something. There have been no good results except from The Jon. I'm a Jack player and 100% my so-called "mid-tier" character has much more tourney potential. Characters that rely on grabs are just limited against the best of the best.

Sure a lot of the grabs got avoided in this set, but the amount of reward from just not avoiding a couple is so insane especially for King where he gets more pressure from landing them, they also extend his heat duration, and off course he can chain them together. Not to mention they’re homing in this game so you can’t side step them, King has a few 10 frame start up grabs which are super good as well, not to mention he can buffer them behind plus frames and armor moves. Also he has the best heat smash in the game with its ridiculous damage, and even if you block it you have to guess immediately after. Also while he is in heat you’re constantly guessing because he can throw you, counter hit high you for a combo, or just heat smash you for half your health. Also on top of all of this, he has brilliant pokes, which allow him to constantly be a threat and demand respect in neutral. So in my opinion, the amount of utility and options he constantly has is S Tier in tournament and online. I think people don’t play him mainly just because he’s so challenging to execute at that high of a level, people would just rather play Feng or something just as good for way less execution. Also sorry for the essay, not being toxic, just passionate about the subject.

The jon is the best Tekken 8 King out there and it isn't even close. Won 1 dojo, finished in top 8 in 3 other ones. Beat Lowhigh in the gauntlet and also beat Knee's feng in a ft5. Can't wait for Jon's Marduk

Btw shoulder is only guaranteed after king's running 3 at max range otherwise you can tech roll it (its either right or left, not both)

This is so much better. I don't even want to watch Feng, Alisa, Dragunov, and Azucena anymore. Their styles just don't appeal to me the way they used to. Maybe it's just me, but I've lost interest after seeing so much of them in Evo Japan. It kind of feels stale now. I think I'm looking for something fresh like this match up.

Im tired of Tekken 8. So many times, the worse player wins just due to spamming gimmicks. Its a joke. Characters like Xiayou, the Bears, Zafina, Lars, Yoshimitsu, Alisa, Azucena, Eddy, Lili, Jack, Raven and Victor have no place in a competitive fighting game in 2024. You either have a serious fighting game or you have a circus. You cant have both. Edit: You all can cry however you want, just cause I called out your main. The thing about it is that yes there are hella gimmicks and they NEED to implement character and game patches soon. However none of these moves are unpunishable, the beauty of the game is that you learn the counter play and execute the right punishes. But I agree it’s a bit overturned so there’s both sides to it.
