In today’s culture, people are so afraid or accustomed to not making a negative point at all. It’s despicable and unsettling to me. It wasn’t like this before approximately 2006. If you go back and watch old interviews or what have you, you’ll see how people were much more genuine and honest and not afraid of negativity back then. I think it’s a sign of the times today that people are so afraid because there is so much political tension. It makes me long to live in an earlier time period.

To me its more interesting to expect things are *free by default*. This certainly steam boils the general narrative of “developers” can work for free. That those two things are the same thing is a fallacy some “programmers” simply don’t seem to understand.

"As I mentioned in my own post", which has since been deleted, it seems. Perhaps I'd prefer to be treated as "paying customer" rather than the insincere drivel of being addressed as "friend". I do hope to use it to decipher some other dev's code - that's usually more difficult especially when deciphering some hyper-refactored stuff written by MIT coding geniuses (it's a humbling experience, but always nice to see what the brainiacs with no personal lives come up with, lol!).
