Truth is, the Canadian government shouldn't feel obligated to take in Syrian refugees. Not saying its a bad thing, but Canada along with Sweden and other countries didn't support invading Iraq in 2003 which led to the destabilization of the region. We knew it at the time it wasn't good for Canada and wasen't good for Iraq and surrounding areas. So why should countries not responsible for this mess have to bear the brunt of the cleanup. The US and its stupid coalition should be 100% responsible for cleaning up the mess they created. I dont think Trudeau or any Prime Minister would have the balls to say this to the Americans but it would be some consolation.
@bellaaneke9 жыл бұрын
+bellaaneke I also think the Canadian people should be responsible for assisting and aiding potential refugees (through a billitt program) and not the government. Therefore appeasing critics of the program while enabling its supporters. I personally would be happy to take in refugees. There would be minimal government expenditure and people would feel like your not forcing something on them. Charity never really works when it's forced on people.

Typical elitist alert! Time to get off your high horse and lower yourself to speak with the common folk. Its a bad feeling for you, and I am sorry you have to do this. I really love big Government loving Socialists I really do, they are so passionate about things they really know nothing about. Canada and the United States were the greatest Countries in the World and achieved a standard of living for the average person that had never been accomplished throughout human history. How was this done? It was done by practicing a limited government, free market capitalist society. Our ancestors all traveled thousands of miles not for big government handouts, they came here for the opportunity of lifting their lives out of poverty that only occurs in a free society. Now, how come we are blowing it? It has to do with the government growing like a bloated parasite courtesy of Socialist agenda's. It is no coincidence that the bigger the government gets, the poorer get poorer, the rich get richer, and the middle class disappears. This is what we are experiencing today because the more power the government has, the more it will sell to the top bidders for that power to protect them, why do you think the 1% is thriving?. The old saying of Power corrupts is all so true. The top Corporations are playing the left for the fools that they are by implementing agendas that on the surface sound like they benefit the public, but really they are protecting the Corporations from competition and failure. That is why the only solution is to shrink the power of the government down, so it no longer has power to give out.

The bottom line is our economy is in the pits thanks to big government courtesy of Harper, Chretien, Mulroney, Trudeau Sr etc. We are not going to fix this problem by making the government even larger and more powerful like Trudeau wants to do. This will only benefit the Politicians and their Crony Corporation friends who thrive under massive State power. I live in Toronto. Now it is Jan 18, 2016. In my neighborhood now there is a bunch of new black people I have never seen before. I know lots of people here and these are new people I have never seen. I was eating at McDonald's at a table near the bathrooms. A new black person I never seen before comes out and smashed the chair on the other side of my table points with both hands at what I am eating and starts screaming a word I did not understand he walks through the McDonald's screaming the same word over and over again. Scared the shit out of me I thought he was going to attack me. This is a guy who does not speak English obviously a so called New Canadian right when the new Syrians are coming in. This is most likely a so called Syrian refugee. I know in Europe they are letting in many Northern Africans who are migrated to Syria and say they are Syrians to become financial migrants. They do not know who they are, they have no passports and say they lost them. They have no education, no skills, diseases they can't cure, are crazy, they women don't work, they want to make everyone Muslim, want Syria law installed, are lazy, violent, have no record of their criminal past and they have no idea what Canada is all about. From what they show on this acted out for TV presentation and what I am seeing what is now showing up in my neighborhood do not match at all. What I am seeing is what is happening in Europe and that is letting in the worst possible people from Africa to destroy out country so the Zionists can install the New World Order agenda. Now I have to be scared to go outside. In Europe they are raping women, rioting, burning things, murdering people and children. A family who took on in and stayed with them he cut their 2 year old girl. They have no gratitude and demand this and that and become violent when they don't get it. This is horrible way to go Justin great job your doing. ASSHOLE!!!!!

sweety there are no african black people in Syria get your facts straight. yes they might be some type of immigrants disguised but not syrian. what's happening to europe is also different, look carefully at the difference. here in this video you see a normal family that is just like you. those that come to europe are probably even illegal. in Canada, all those family are well scanned on their backgrounds and checked properly to ensure the safety of the canadian citizens. rest assured nothing bad will happen. in Europe they are basically terrible at securing their borders from weird outside freaks and intruders. In canada i think it's a different story because every person admitted is checked properly before entering the country. this is how you do it just because europe doesn't know how to deal with the refugees and protect it's boarders doesn't mean it's a definite example of why you shouldn't admit any refugee. instead you welcome them but make sure of their background and the fact that they don't hold any harm to your country's citizens. simple and plain as that.

hello im a french refugee from Calais, north of France. i lived right next to the refugee camp they called jungle. when i bought my house in 2007, it was worth 150 000 euro, now i cant even sell it for 50 000 euros. i decided to flee after my house has been robbed 7 times, rocks thrown at my windows 15 times or so. We've received death threats several times, and we have been chased back home before. our living situation is unbearable. we are not allowed to fight back, my right to protect my family has been taken away somehow. our police has abandoned us. And we just dont know what to do. our only option is to flee to Canada. Madamme Trudeau, your last name sounds French, will you accept French refugees ? there is a growing number of us. help us.

If I lived in Canada, my wife and I also would take a ton of Syrian refugees in as well. Canadians are more American than the United States will ever be! I wonder if anyone in Canada will take my wife and me in until we get on our feet.

+Uncle Ñoño “Gwamps” Kingston I find your remark about us being American, insulting! We are Canadians, America is a Republic, we are Loyalist and Monarchist and a completely different culture based on English, French and Native First Nations. Please don't call us Americans!

+Uncle Ñoño “Gwamps” Kingston To quote your words..."RebornFocus and kath2ndrew are terrorists regardless of what country you both come from because terrorists terrorize and support terrorism." Reading this comment thread, I can understand why you might call RebornFocus a "terrorist" but I don't understand why you called kath2ndrew a "terrorist" too. Unless I misinterpreted your comment somewhere, because kath2ndrew made no such reference whatsoever regarding terrorism. kath2ndrew said "I find your remark about us being American, insulting! We are Canadians, America is a Republic, we are Loyalist and Monarchist and a completely different culture based on English, French and Native First Nations. Please don't call us Americans!" I'm sure she was referring to your first post, quoth "Canadians are more American than the United States will ever be!" kath2ndrew just meant not to call Canadians as Americans, because they are two distinct countries. I know some of us Canadians take slight offence to being called or mistaken as an American. I'm confused where the "terrorist" part comes in, so maybe you can enlighten me on it, otherwise I hope you were just simply mistakened/confused. Sorry, just a minor detail I wanted to point out while reading this thread.

+TheGreatMoonFrog - good analogy if these people were to fill all that empty space. Like most recent immigrants to Canada, they will not though, the vast majority will live in (or close to) already large population centers, primarily Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver. The vast majority of Canada is pretty much the worlds refrigerator, that immigrants (of any ethnic background) would rather avoid at all cost.

As a Canadian of European descent I must say that it is an utter disgrace to all of those killed during WWII to see how little has changed in European culture when it comes to racism. When I go visit Europe every couple of years I am utterly disturbed by the overt xenophobia and ultra nationalism exhibited by Europeans.

Hey fellow Canadians, Instead of being angry that we are accepting a few refugees and not using that money to help improve lives at home for Canadians, be angry at the fact that the government is spending more of your tax dollars in wars like Afghanistan and Syria instead of social programs here at home for people already here. Sincerely, A Fellow Canadian

A single act of kindness. love and compassion holds more power than an atomic warhead. I just seen this video and my heart is 100% captured by this gentleman. Don't you think who are killing humans of any faith around the world that you can also win the hearts of thousands n thousands without firing a single bullet and that will be much powerful. The impact of this will go generation after generation. This is what that called kindness which was done by my Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and still the heart of billions around the world are mild towards him. Mr. Justin Turdeau you are doing a great job.Whole world is proud of you.

R mcvyp Look who is talking :) One who don't have enough courage to come up with at least real name. Muhammad (PBUH) my Prophet is misunderstood by you. You need to know the reality? Read about it by yourself. Commenting like this under others comments is useless. You are not even that much courageous who can express his/her hatred publicly. sneaking on comments and replying with hatred can never make you a smart person. Expand your knowledge if you that much curious. If you don't want to read then please stop. I'm aware of Muhammad (PBUH) and do not think that it is justifiable to give justifications to any moron.

Trudeau likely did the right thing with genuine kindness in his heart. But let’s not be morons about what goes on in the Middle East. Women treated last like chattel and sold off to men often way older. Gay boys tied to a chair and thrown from the roof of the tallest building in town. If they are still alive when they hit the street there is a pile of rocks to finish killing him ....

I did a school project back in the day where we interviewed ww2 vets. I interviewed a man who was a fallschirmjager (paratrooper). 12 combat jumps over two continents, he's killed people, allies, soviets, Americans and Canadians alike. He was captured after Dday and became a POW. After the war, Canada took him in; a foot soldier for a hate machine that started history's bloodiest war. Canadians accepted him no problem. He was a soccer coach, paid taxes, and drank beer with his former enemies. yet we can't seem to accept syrian civilians...

Wow, i wasnt greeted this way when i arrived to toronto as a landed immigrant in 1998. I know my parents had to go through various interviews a few countries and had to have a certain status to be finally accepted, after a lengthy process. Came here with a thousand dollars and ''good luck'', as we knew nothing and no-one. Too bad we weren't royally welcomed to canada like this.
