For what it's worth, I bought an LL Bean bed and an Orvis bed for my dog and both lasted 10 years. They are in amazing condition, are chew-proof, and she slept on them daily/nightly. My pup passed away a few months ago so I'll be donating these beds to a shelter. I'm not exaggerating when I say they look gently-used; not bad for 10 year old beds! I hope Pollux feels better soon 💜

Oh Pollux, six holes already? I love both your doggies but I guess because Pollux came from a shelter I have a special place in my heart for him. He looks so appreciative for his new bed and just put his face in every corner and just loved on that bed. He just looks so sweet laying in his bed, like he's so thankful. I hope his hip or leg gets better, he may have strained it doing zoomies because he really exerts himself when he does them. 🥰🥰🥰

When we first got our Boston Terrier, Star, she came with her old bed. It was rather old with a few rips in it, so we threw it out on a very tall junk pile in the backyard that we were preparing to have hauled away. Later on in the day, we didn't see her in her new bed, so we went into the backyard to look for her. There she was, she had climbed that huge junk pile and was laying in her old bed at the top. She then looked up at us as if to say, " Now why would you put my bed here"? 😆

You can also buy a pilates or yoga mat at TJ Maxx etc. for added support. Cut to shape of bed and place inside or under. Helps with older dogs who have arthritis or joint problems. It’s waterproof and an inexpensive option.

We got a memory foam bed for our last dog when she got old and creaky, and she loved it. It has lasted so well that now, ten hears later, it’s still good for our current boi. I hope there’s a good solution for Pollux’s sore hip. I’m sure you’ll let us know. I love watching the guys play. Cutest thing ever! And aww, look at them together on the new bed!

Pollux may have a torn ACL or partial tear around his knee. The vet. told me that it is very common for dogs to do this. The vet. took X-rays and recommended surgery for Ben who had been limping for a couple of months. but in lieu of surgery, we opted for a customized leg brace (Top Dog Bracing) and supplements for my hyperactive rescue. Ben adjusted to his brace quickly and is doing so much better that he may not even need to wear it now except for extreme exercise. Wish the best for Pollux.

Pollux is so full of personality. So happy he loves his new bed. Watching him rub his face along the sides makes me think it has to do with the dryer sheet you threw in the dryer when you were fluffing it. I remember a video where you showed us his reaction to a dryer sheet on your bed - where he rolled and rolled on that dryer sheet. It was so funny. So, I'm thinking that dryer sheet produced that reaction. But I tell ya - it is no easy task finding just the right bed for our fur babies. I've tried countless varieties over the years. Some of our dogs preferred a muffin type bed. Our Jack Russells who like to burrow, loved the fleece-lined igloos. I wonder if Pollux would sleep in an igloo when it's night-night time (when he goes under your bed). The the igloo provides that surround security. They are very hard to find. The lady that used to make mine is now in her late 70's and she closed her business. She did take my order for one more when we adopted our new dogs. Thank goodness. The male sleeps with us on our bed; whereas the female loves the igloo. Ha Ha - you just never know.

Our pups always lick their beds when I use fabric softer on their bedding. I stop using fabric softer on their bedding that's helps. Thanks for sharing 🥰🐾

I'm glad you had good luck with these beds. I ordered our rescue dog the same bed as Pollux's original bed. Within a few days he had chewed holes in it and had stuffing everywhere. I tried to stop it but it different work. I put the bed away. Some day I plan to stitch it up and maybe he will actually use it someday. He sleeps on the couch and we're ok with that.

Hi Renae, this may help, I make my own anti chew spray for one of my dog's bed as he use to make holes. Add 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts apple cider vinegar into a spray bottle. The mixture won’t damage the bed. You may also use two cups of lemon juice instead of apple cider. The lemon juice will also taste tart but has a nice aroma 🍋

Now I am Jelous .!! I enjoyed this so much I had to watch it more than once... These Dogs are so much fun to watch.Inwould be more worried is Maxxie was limping around . But because Pollux is amuck younger boy . I am sure it's nothing he will heal with time . He horsepowers himself in circles .around the Big Weed so it could be some ligament damage. I think he needs a Zoomie Ban for about a Week or 2. But Doctor knows Best. Other than than that he seems Fine.And of course The New Bed Will definitely help. I'll have to try one of those memory foam beds (but it will be a little while before I order one--October 30 we are picking up a new family member--a puppy!! I am so excited. So don't want to get an expensive bed with a puppy in the house!! I can't believe my husband talked me into a new puppy, but he really didn't have to twist my arm very much at all). My lovely old dog Henry had hip issue I use to gently rub the pain awayand in the cold weather I made sure I gave him a hot water bottle to rest his bad side on , he still went on slower walks and live till he was 18 years old yes 18 !! I'm sorry about Pollux's hip - ask your vet about "Cosequin" - it's for joint pain - (can be gotten on amazon) It really helped my dog when he was having trouble with his back leg.

Hi Renee! When you go to the Vet ask him to check his iliopsoas that’s the major hip flexor and it is the most under diagnosed ailment according to my orthopedic veterinary surgeon. I went through this with my Pomeranian. First they thought it was the cruciate ligament in knee but it wasn’t it was his iliopsoas tendon in the hip. Most “regular “ vets miss it so keep that information in your back pocket. My vet was at a loss because it wasn’t his knee or foot etc so he sent us to a specialist and sure enough it was the iliopsoas. Once I looked it up he had all the symptoms. It’s a very common strain. Let us know how you make out when you go! Kisses to Pollux and Maxie! ❤😘
