I’ve got Weld plants all over, they’re getting invasive. I think they came in on a tractor. Now I know what to do!

Do you need an acid to fix the colour before the copper mordant?

@@traceynoble6080 in this case, we used Alum as a mordant, then the weld, and then used copper to shift the color. But you can use copper first without any alum, and still get a similar color. You don’t have to have acid, but because we use copper sulfate, we do put some vinegar in to make the copper more available. Hope this is helpful!

@@ColorMeHappy.Fiberarts Thanks so much for that information. I am planning a dye garden now that I am semi-retired. I'm not sure what will grow successfully as my climate is sub-tropical, but I am going to have fun trying. 🥰
