@@Welddotcom must add, I did make some frames this last week (that I welded galv wire mesh to) and I didn’t bother to check the mitre angle (going off those silly little marks the manufacturer puts on their saws…mistake) and welded it up on the ground (painful and cursing by the end) , not to mention stuffing up some welds being uncomfortable and out of position and getting blow through on some spots (more cursing and rework). I don’t weld often so good lessons for the next job and a good laugh watching your video after my experience.

when building frames that had to stay in plane we would use 3 pieces of angle to put under the corners to isolate it from the floor. normally once it's tacked together it can be finished welded on floor.

love the video. But one question, why tack the scrap onto the piece for the ground clamp? Why not clamp the scrap piece to the base, then clamp? No clean up, blending or unnecessary heat input. Would the clamped connection not be as strong of a ground connection?

@royeasom4329 ай бұрын
If you follow the process of mirroring correctly, you won't end up with a twisted frame and out of square frame. Also, that frame is going to grow, and all enclosed frames need to be reduced by material thickness. This helps ensure that you 20"x20" is actually 20"x20"
