@@messylaura Rowan does good stuff, its great to see traditional tecniques done well, there are very few smiths out there that know how to work wrought iron or how to do some of the welds Rowan uses

do you use any flux when you weld? can you make a video of how you handle your welds in the forge please?

Flux is used as a barrier to stop oxidizing on the surface of the Iron which will impair the welding. A clean neutral fire, where the all the oxygen from the blast has been combined with the fuel to create the heat will require little or no flux. Historically Silver Sand was used with wrought iron, and Borax and Propriety Brands of flux on mild steel.
