Baz in my previous life I was a railway track welder and worked in a switch and crossing refurbishment facility. Lots of welding/grinding manganese steel and airborne particles and fumes were a big issue. When I became manager I wanted to improve air quality within facility so looked at many options to work along side elephants trunk extraction. Eventually went for a push-pull system from Kemper, essentially removed, scrubbed, filtered and returned same air within whole building 6 times an hour. As air recirculating no real loss in temperature, really good system and worked very well. We had dust/fume monitoring done before and after with around a 70-75% improvement in air quality

Yet another great vid, thoroughly enjoyed, fair play, ever since I've started watching welder fabber , I've been inspired to start trying to have more reliance on my on skill set to repair my equipment for my small business as a tree service contractor, I've even started use my welder, welded a few things, and saved some money, also had some welded by a pro as I know my limits 😊. Always happy to learn and see different things. Thanks for all the efforts in producing these awesome videos/episodes.

That on-torch extractor is new to me. You figure it might be handy for enclosed spaces? I wouldn’t use it to replace an air-fed respirator, but if it doesn’t make the welding more difficult I’d use them together.

Good on you guys. Calling out shoddy workmanship. I mean it's under a hell of a lot of pressure that door so I would have assumed it would be done correctly. How wrong can I be? Been subscribed for ages I could have met you when you went up to baxington except I had prayer engagements. One day between you and d&j projects I will visit well done setting apprentices on both for yourself and Dan's company. People are out there who want to learn. You've just got to find them. Well done baz. Well done Callum and well done. Dan, keep up the good work and keep up the videos. I'm learning a lot though. Probably never able to put it to practise and you're also entertaining

A friend of mine had a near miss with a grinder recently. He slipped and caught his wrist. A coworker made a makeshift torniquet ,this luckily stemmed the flow and the hospital did the rest. I always carry a torniquet with me now , just in case. ❤

Never heard of gun mounted extraction before, would have thought it would affect your gas flow somewhat. Weight also seems like it could be an issue if using it all day like you both said. Can you get it linked into the trigger on the gun so the vacuum comes on as you start welding?
