So glad u brought this! Just had this happen and I couldn’t figure out how to correct the script. There are endless possibilities the silhouette program has. It can become a bit overwhelming. Ty for continuing this series.

Shannon, you explain so easily, I didn't buy a silhouette because of the learning factor, I bought a Gemini Jr instead. I do enjoy it and have no problems except shims warping. However it was not my first choice, with you around and so willingly to teach us old timers, i'm only 55 but old enough, I definitly would have bought one, that was my first choice but it looked way to complicated for little ole me. TYFS

How do you do that with non script fonts? I don't want each individual letter cut out.

My letters are moving on top of each other when I move them. How do I change the spacing?

Just wondering if you have previously used the Silhouette 2, and if so, what are the differences between the 2 & 3? Is it worth it to upgrade to the 3? Tfs

I had the first Cameo, not the 2. I don't think it's worth the upgrade. Only big difference is the touch screen and it's not a "must" thing to have. It still uses the same Studio program and cuts 12" wide. I would like to see them come out with a 36" wide machine next. We will see :)

Good to know. I agree; a wider Silhouette would be wonderful. Thank you so much!

I'm a newbie using the software. Do you know if there is a way to weld a shape inside of a shape? I've created an oval, then put a heart inside lining up the edge of the heart against the inside line of the oval, highlighted the two images and clicked on weld but my heart disappears. I've tired grouping if first but as soon as I click on weld the heart also disappears. TIA

It will only weld intersections of lines. Grouping will keep it from coming apart so you can move them both together.

@@TheDailyDIYer Thanks. Yeah I tried lining the heart edge up to the inside of the oval line thinking it would weld just like it does when the heart is lined up to the edge of the oval from the outside. Oh well. Thanks for replying

I am having a problem understanding how to include a name within an image I downloaded. It is image 236404 and its an ornament with a gingerbread man and underneath a name. When I cut it, the name area is not a part of the design. Anyone have an suggestions? Ive tried to weld it but the section for the name still comes out separately.

Oy. Highlight the word and right click, WELD. You don’t need a 4 minute video
