I think it is a universal law that when you go to hook up the trailer you will either have a flat tire or the lights won't work
@MRSketch094 жыл бұрын
As the old saying goes, "its the little things that will get you" in this case, the majority of trailer manufactures don't pay attention to the details of using good wire connections, etc.. & it bites the trailer owner in the ass a year down the line. Same with tires. So I've heard... repeatedly.

Nice cleanup of dead trees. That’s a big improvement. “Give a farmer a front end loader and he thinks he’s driving a D9 Cat” - might have to reinforce the bucket eventually.

I would weld a metal triangle (gusset?) in front of each tail light housing. The longer you make the side against the trailer, the better deflecting ability it will have. Maybe some 3/8" or 1/2" plate?

Looks like maybe a Hobart 100/125? I have the 140, great welders. I find it welds anything I need it to around the garage. I just replaced and fixed the lights on my trailer as well, never ending. Hope you and your family are doing well.
@1806StoneHouse4 жыл бұрын
I decimated my trailer lights the very first time attempting to back up.. I was at the lumber yard and 5 men were watching me... it was a humbling moment for me... still haven’t fixed the lights 😂

Can't miss that in the dark! Great idea with the tractor (lumber). I'm slow. You gonna put the tiny house here?? How'd I miss that. hmmm.

Yes, in the cleared out area
@MRSketch094 жыл бұрын
Hey this is merely a suggestion to your system, since you have that freaking HUGE tractor with forks on it.. If you set up your stacks, & added 4x4 after so high.. then when you wanted to get a bundle, you could just come along & get a bundle with your tractor. As it stands your going to have to work as hard getting your boards as you did stacking them up... As a matter of fact you could just stack a bundle on the ground on top of 4x4, then go stack it with your tractor as well, it'd probably be easier than you "Trapezing" all over the wood like you did.

@invig24 жыл бұрын
I thought you could of welded on a couple of lengths of round bar ahead of each light, before painting and while you had the gear set up. But I guess you didn't get the idea for the triangular guards until it was too late to get the extra metal.

Just a curious question. Why the tiny house
@thehomesteadcraftsman89754 жыл бұрын
For no reason other than I want to I guess. A nice place to go, no building permits, can be moved, small, interesting, and so on.
@cpoul4 жыл бұрын
Can't mount under the back end of the trailer?
@thehomesteadcraftsman89754 жыл бұрын
I guess you could but your lights are supposed to mark the full width of the trailer, that would leave out the tires. Also it would make the lights hang down and vulnerable if you drag the back of the trailer.
@cpoul4 жыл бұрын
@@thehomesteadcraftsman8975 I have a 4x8 cargo trailer and the factory lights are installed/inset in the box itself not extending out past the 4' width. Maybe for your type of trailer the regulations are different. I enjoy you videos. I've opened up a couple of cans of worms myself in my time.
