What's The Best Locker For Your Van Build!?!

I put a Detroit TrueTrac in my 2014 Chevy Express 2500. It's a helical-gear limited slip, so no clutches or springs to wear out, and no electrical connections or air pumps to worry about. Very close to the amount of traction of a mechanical locker, but completely seamless and automatic. If you are planning on hard-core off-roading a locker would give you the most traction, but for towing a trailer and occasionally being on a dirt or gravel road it gives me all the traction I need.

@@edwardpeders9582 My 2005 Jeep Rubicon had air lockers as well as a helical-gear limited slip. I pinched an air line and put a hole in it, wasn't hard to find and I was able to repair it on the trail with some tubing and couplers I carried. The limited-slip never failed me though. The electrical locker looks like a good idea though.

I kinda like the looks of the E-locker. Hold the button on your dash when you get stuck in a rut but forget about it all other times.

Id run E-Locker over air locker. And Id use the a Detroit TrueTrac if i want something a little less expensive.

Too bad no Detroit TrueTrac -- I know they won't fit a Ford with 32 spline axles (or at least they didn't when I last looked), only option besides stock limited slip was the Air-locker. But will a TrueTrac fit a Chevy?

they make a truetrac for the GM 9.5 which is what I have in my 2018 GMC Savana. I had one put in mine

@@johnossendorf9979 works as advertised, definitely helps in the snow. Haven’t really put it to a severe off-road test but as I understand if you get a wheel off the ground hold a little brake pressure while giving it some gas to send traction to the wheel on the ground. Simple, next to no maintenance.

you may have to upgrade to 35 spline axles... we can do that.
