Thanx for posting the video Devin. Really makes me feel a little better to see it’s not only myself who has stupid issues like this costing big time. It’s all part of the game

I’m actually glad you uploaded the video, it shows you’re one of us. unfortunately we makes mistakes which can get us really (really really..) frustrated with our cars, but we learn to overcome the issues. keep up the great work.

I am here to see the work done, show your work the good and the bad. I watch this content because I am living in Thailand and have sold all of my cars. So please do not think that people will not watch because it did not go well. That is the car life.

Try not to be so hard on yourself bro, please. We learn by making mistakes and sometimes it takes making the same mistake numerous times. Your are by far one of my favorite and most inspiring youtubers. What matters is you are fixing the mistake and making it better then before. Love you bro, keep moving forward!

Glad you decided to upload the video. I think these kind of videos are interesting. Like shows how you approach things when stuff doesn't work like you thought it would when you get it back together. Anyone who has taken something on a car apart and put it back together just for that thing not to work knows that feeling. Keep killin it dude!

Maybe that clip on the throwout bearing is what contributed to killing second gear in the OEM transmission. Think of finding it now as saving you a lot of time and money by it not destroying another on your test drive. Glad you uploaded.

Hey man, don’t beat your self up, setbacks happen for a reason. Yeah they piss us off but the best thing we can get from them is knowledge. They way I look at it is if I do it again and again I just get better and better the next time something happens. IMO awesome video, goes to show that it’s not all peaches when it comes to cars theirs headaches and smiles. Great content keep it up 👍🏼

Devin I’m glad you uploaded the vid because you that you made a mistake. Man you’re a righteous bro. I appreciate your honesty and humbleness. Great content; you probably don’t realize it. Your a role model for the car enthusiast 👍👍. I’m not sure what Too Rank would charge you for a fan shroud but I bet they can find you one. If you can get the tob popped off a little, rotate the axles and you will have access to the other side of the tob and repeat tob removal and it should pop right off.

over the years I learned to check the retaining clips and also use the OEM throwout bearing on evos. I usually check it before putting everything back in, because I had the same issue on a BRAND NEW Competition Clutch kit. we usually use Exedy or ACT clutch for all of our evo clutch jobs because they fit better and lasts longer. but my customer bought the competition clutch kit and had a problem with the throwout bearing engagement on the clutch pressure plate. had to do the job twice because of poor product fitment.

Like everyone else said, don't beat yourself up. it's only time, and at least it's not your daily. I rebuilt my 06 sti and reused my throw out bearing, dropped the motor in and smashed the ears on the bearing and had to pull the motor again, and order a whole new TOB retainer and an oem TOB, and it was my daily car.
