Painted across the wall of Wellington Dam in Collie, Western Australia, is the biggest dam mural in the world. Created by Guido Van Helten who painted his work of art, titled “Reflections” covers 8,000 square meters of the Wellington Dam wall. Competed in February 2021 the artist Van Helten, selected six images to paint on this massive scale. If you are standing looking at the mural, on the far left are to of the migrant workers who built the dam, posing as it overflows behind them in the background. Next to them are two local kids playing in the sand. The central, wide image is of a handful of Aboriginal children playing on a picnic day out.. to the right there is a boy handling fish. Then a picture of a dad with his two kids. With the final image on the far right of a Aboriginal couple taken from a photo believed to be from the 1890s. The Wellington Dam Mural is the centre piece of a Mural trail through the town of Collie. All up there are about 40 murals to discover on this trail.
