The map and unit colors make viewing very pleasant.

They could have done the same layer cake with shades of green, which might have been more appropriate for Belgium in June.

That's a huge map. I would need binoculars with my eyesight 🎉

Yeah...my sight is not working well, especially with the darker counters

@@calandalemy eyesight really sucks, I have ceratoconus, so the only thing that helps a bit are contacts. 😢

Hi Enrico. I was trying to see if the British unit that received the artillery hit was at the same level as the French firing artillery?.
@calandaleАй бұрын
No, it's one level lower (didn't even notice) under normal rules it wouldn't be visible; nor should it be under my LOS. Damn, it's gonna be hard to even remember to check LOS when there's nothing in the way. :D

Where do you buy your pipe tobacco? A local place? Or do you order online?

It seems like you are rediscovering the principles of Napoleonic warfare through trial and error, which, if true, speaks well of the game’s mechanics.

The choices of what is more abstracted is different from other designs I prefer/am more used to.
@kenx8176Ай бұрын
@@calandale I’d like a big dumb battalion-level system where nearly all the tactical stuff is abstracted, so the player is not making decisions about line versus column versus square, or when to deploy skirmishers, or any of that stuff.

@@kenx8176then why do a battalion level game at all?
@kenx8176Ай бұрын
@@terry7907 For a single battle, I like a game that can be completed in a long weekend, like two full days. If it's a small battle from the Peninsular War or the Italian campaigns, then sure, getting down to the nitty gritty of individual battalion formations is fun. For a big battle though, that's not practical within the same timeframe. I can envision a game where an individual counter represents a battalion, but the division is the level where commands are issued, fatigue and morale are tracked, and generally, where the player is concentrating most of his attention. Battalions are there to keep track of attrition to the strength of the division in a less fiddly way than pollard markers and to show the amount of frontage or space occupied by the division. The movement allowance and combat strength of each battalion would be determined in large part by what orders the division has. If an infantry division has orders to conduct a road march, then its battalions will have a higher movement allowance and lower combat strength, with the latter reflecting the likelihood that they won't form line or square quickly enough if they are attacked.
