I was on the BBC’s website yesterday and there was an article about How The Vivienne Took Over British Drag. I was like, “yeah, of course, but why are you publishing this now?” I clicked, thinking she was involved in something new that I would want to watch. I read the article, and at the bottom was a link to her obituary. I ended up crying at work. She was f-ing amazing and I hope she knows that’s what we think of her.

I first found out through Michelle's Insta post. I, like many others, thought it was some kind of sick joke, but when I saw her season 1 sisters making similar posts, I knew it was true. The Vivienne truly was the bridge between the gaps of old school British drag and modern contemporary drag. She inspired baby queens across the UK whilst keeping the origins of our drag history alive. She may be gone, but her impact and her legacy will never be forgotten. Sweet dreams, you absolute legend.

A friend messaged me last night that she was gone. Shock, disbelief, sorrow. The Vivienne was an icon and we were so proud of her in the UK. I never met her but I believe she had a heart of gold.
