My old chap was the last employee to leave the Ampress site long after the rest of the workforce had departed. He also ended up working for the new site owners once Wellworthy / T&N had sold up.

If you could I'd love to see them! If you're on Facebook I run a page called Lymington Slice Of Life 50s and 60s, have a look, there are loads of old Wellworthy photographs in there!

Thanks for uploading this video. My grandfather worked at Welworthys from about 1956 to 1960, when they lived on Waterford Lane in Monks Orchard. I never knew what he did there, now I know!

My father worked at Wellworthy Lymington for about 9 years before moving to Waterford Ireland (interesting name co-incidence!) in 1974 when they opened a plant there. We lived on Boldre Lane behind the factory

I worked at the Ampress plant for about a minute, during the mid 1970s.

Why is the image cropped and so blurred?

Neat. I like the footage of the TT races.......I think I could beat those bikes on my sport-tourer even with my rather conservative riding style. How times have changed! I did some apprenticeship work at Wellworthy in the late 60s as well as a ME student. I learned a lot even though I wasn't a particularly good student.
