The 'Painkiller' album was a reaction to the rise of thrash metal in the 80s. Judas Priest were like: "You kids think you're heavy? Then get a load of THIS..." And they took everyone back to school.

Judas Priest are definitely one of the best bands of all time and have been so under rated. Nobody ever really appreciated how much talent they have. You know they have a big catalogue which is absolutely full of classics. Try Beyond the Realms of Death or Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver or You've Got Another Thing Coming. But there are just so many ......

Yeah, please do more Priest! I suggest you: Victim of Changes (Live At The Seminole Hard Rock Arena), Dissident Aggressor, The Sentinel, Lightning Strike (from 2018)... there are sooo many amazing JP songs. You could also do a reaction to their 2022 50th anniversay tour, there are many fan made videos with great quality (and yeah, he still sounds great) - any song by them would be great!

It's fair to say this album was a turning point from their catalogue, something of an inspired comeback and response to the politics surrounding them at the time, although it was somewhat pointed to by the previous album "Ram It Down", which gave a bit of a hint that they were looking to a certain energy.

Ryan / Nathan: The Warning is coming to (Nov 8) Vancouver, BC. Also (Nov 10) Penticton. They will open for Three Days Grace. Also on the bill is The Standstills. No excuse not to see them now. The Warning are doing an 8 (maybe more) day tour in November with Three Days Grace in Canada.

Nice, the great thing about the Priest is they have 18 albums and they all have a different flavor, where Maiden is pretty much the same sound. Here are a few live songs you should check out. Sentinel live from Fuel for Life tour 86, Victim of Changes live from US Fest. The Sinner from Live Vengeance 82 is a great 77 song, Night Crawler (Live 1991.)Other great songs are Beyond the Realms of Death, Youve Got Another Thing Coming.

Priest have soon to be 19 studio albums of great music. They never sat still and each album is a little different but still Priest. First saw them on MTV Breaking the Law 1980 and never looked back. They have been the soundtrack to my life. Metal Meltdown off same album is another one you will really like.

"Louder than an atom bomb", I was stationed overseas a weapons site in 1985-86, my platoon leader was an Army Ranger trained Seargent, we'd be in the shack listening to everyone's music, his favorite was Judas Priest, all the time, lol, we had one guy who liked country music, Alabama was his favorite, i still remember his face when my Seargent told him that Judas Priest would easily kill Alabama.

Good lord - you don’t know what you are missing if you don’t dive more into Judas Priest. One of my all time favorites. Primarily cauz of their variety of heavy metal throughout the years. Each album a little different in style but most excellent listens. Next two: Go all the way back to the beginning: Victim of Changes from the 1970s Then go all the way to the latest: Spectre or Firepower or Traitor’s Gate from their 2018 release Firepower - still killing it 50 years later then, work all the excellent shit in between!

This is literally the first band that decided to play Metal all the time. Zep, The Who, Sabbath, they played Metal, but they did other stuff too. Priest is the first heavy metal band.

Two guitarists Glenn Tipton and KK Downing. They are founded in 1969 and they are pioneers of the style. And singer Rob Halford is the metal god.

I can suggest about the beginnings of JP: Victim Of Changes (1976), classics: Rapid Fire (1980) or The Sentinel (1984), songs that I love: Wild Nights, Hot & Crazy Days (1986), Ram It Down (1988), Leather Rebel or Between The Hammer & The Anvil (1991) and its most recent material: Traitors Gate or Firepower (2018) 🙌🏻🔥

Great reaction boys, I've decided to follow you, knowing how passionate you are about Metal. You also do your homework too, which is great. As for Priest, check out their last album, also maybe classics like Beyond The Realms Of Death, you've been missing out boys, enjoy.

Metallica,Maiden,Van Halen, all these bands are later than Priest. Every album is different, that's their legacy. Anything off this album is awesome!

Every album has a different flavor. As you pointed out Iron Maiden albums are kind of clones. Painkiller was their "hold my beer" moment. They are currently touring. All of the suggestions below are excellent. The key to their longevity IMO is their diverse styles. There have been multiple versions of Priest over the years with band members leaving, coming back, and retiring. Glenn Tipton and Ian Hill being the most consistent members. Glenn has been diagnosed with Parkinson's, and has stopped touring. Some of my favorite songs not listed below are: Riding on the wind, Devils Child, Traitors Gate, The Sentinel, Dragonaut, Angel, Hellrider. & Nostradamus (Album of same name, Opera / Metal fusion.)
