You could go to the heavy Nightwish, "Yours Is an Empty Hope". Many versions. Wembley Arena, The Nightwish Cruise or the version Nightwish released just a few weeks ago, Mexico City 2015. They dug it up from the archives of Ville Lipiäinen, the Nightwish director.

Europe is awake now! I think they will react. 😊 There is no wrong video. It's what you prefer. Wacken is just amazing. But also Tampere, Buenos Aires, Wembley, Mexico etc. Just enjoy Nightwish because they are great musicians.

I think this song in particular takes multiple times to really appreciate as there is so much going on musically, visually, and vocally. However, it is one that still, after probably a thousand times hearing it, gives me chills. I think your friend will like songs better, as do I , but there definitely is something special with this one ...if only I could put my finger on it 🧐. Welp Here I Am Commenting On A Nightwish Reaction On KZbin You are correct in that repeated listening increases one's Nightwish appreciation. Unlike most songs you might hear a hundred times, these songs stand up well to repetition (and I'm sure you could easily name several that don't). Wacken 2013 is usually the gateway concert for new Nightwish listeners, as the audio, video and performance are all first-rate. For your next three videos I recommend: "Storytime" (to see just what they can do with a more conventional song structure) "Dark Chest Of Wonders" (to see the energy they bring to start the show) and "Ever Dream" (which has everything that makes Nightwish great). But no matter, you won't be disappointed by any of their songs, although you will be surprised. (MAKE AMERICA NIGHTWISH)

This is a good introduction to the band, however I would say it doesn't show how most of their songs feel. You are 100% right about appreciating it more after a few listens. Keep going with more of their music and I might suggest Romanticide or Song of myself next. BTW your daughter seems to love interrupting as much as mine does. ;)

Nice Ryan, thank you. Give Nathan a little heavier taste next time....."Song Of Myself", "Romanticide", "Ghost River" or "Yours Is An Empty Hope". Any of these should widen the distance from an Evanescence ( many times Amy Lee and the band get compared to NW and Floor. ) sound.
