HANS-ULRICH JÖRGES: “The end of the firewall? That would have historical significance” | MY OPINION
On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz by the Red Army, Hans Ulrich Jörges recalls in his column the significance of the firewall to the AfD and warns of the possible political consequences of the CDU moving closer to the AfD. He also criticizes the inaction of Olaf Scholz and the German government with regard to relations with the USA, especially in light of looming trade conflicts. Another focus is on Middle East policy and the continued presence of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Jörges calls for a rethink in German politics, especially when it comes to forward-looking topics such as artificial intelligence.
