Wemby had to be star strucked in that first game and nervous. He shook Durant's hand as if he was meeting a Prime Minister or something. By the last quarter he was over it. Second game, he was finally dialed in. Cant wait to see him versus the other current greats. Awesome time to be a Spurs fan. I wonder if Duncan talks to him?!!

Im now a true believer In Wemby he really has the chance to make all star this year as a rookie and DPOY and his clutch gene is amazing it’s very rare that rookies are comfortable in those situations and close games most rookie would freeze up and not be ready for the moment but Wemby is different he is definitely a generational talent once he figures out the nba and get a more consistent shot with a little more strength it’s over for the league

The more mistakes he makes early on, the faster he will grow into his full potential which looks to be something I can't even describe.
@brandonc4226 ай бұрын
What I like about the mistakes he is making is they're fairly straightforward and easy to fix. He won't turn the ball over 4-5 times a game once he gets comfortable with the speed of the game, the refs won't call him on as many "fouls" once he gets established (Rookies never get the respect of the whistles early on, it's part of the initiation to the league) and the very few defensive lapses he's had will start to fade away and the ones he still has from time to time will be erased by his better reaction time.

Teams had to adjust their playbooks for Shaq. Won't be surprised if they did the same to adapt to Wemby.

It's clear that Shaq's presence on the court required teams to make strategic adjustments. Now, with Wemby in the mix, it wouldn't be surprising if teams are reevaluating and tweaking their playbooks once again. I see titles in San Antonio’s future. If he stays happy there and doesn’t get injured, in several years when he really hits his stride, spurs have more than enough draft capital to go for a megastar if the team aren’t contenders already. It’s possible as well Wemby could be unstoppable on his own

San Antonio has proven to be a fantastic environment for player development, and if everything falls into place with San Antonio's continued support, minimal injuries, and Wemby's dedication, we might very well witness some championship titles in the future. if they put 20-30lbs on this young man he is going to really be a problem
@stevenleblanc81466 ай бұрын
He already put on weight. Wembanyama was talking about that before he came to the league. Said something like he had been eating 5 times a day for the last 5 years and was focused on strength training. Said something like he was aware of the weight and that he knew or was confident it would come after putting in the work. He's had a whole team with who knows what type of resources from France backing him for a long time now despite being under 20 years of age. They seem to really know wth they are doing. That's a great approach to get stronger. The muscle and as a consequence the weight will get up there eventually. Also a big focus on flexibility to avoid the likelihood of injury that comes with being freakishly tall. Basically like building a basketball player in a lab and trying to do everything possible to create the perfect specimen. Only guy I could think of that compares to that type of potebtial is Wilt.
