That's the thing, every block isn't a good block, sometimes it's better to make them miss, and not send the shot away. Not all about statistics

@@JigglesLovely That's what you can say when you have a top10 Team Defensive rating. But it's not the case anymore, Spurs are #16. Also I speak about points scored by the opponent when Wemby was in position to contest and/or block, but didn't do any of those. Wemby have the best Rim D of the NBA, and the best %Block (9.7%, nearly 1 block every 10 FG attempt when he's in position to contest) He was for me already the real DPOY last season, .... BUT he could be even better, with more focus and stamina that's the "crazy" part

Unfortunately, that’s not how these stats are counted but I agree with you that they should. A block prevents the ball from going into the rim and a steal is when one gets the possession of the ball away from the opponent.
