A Xu and Lao Wen are much more credible soul mates than Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangi, not because of the actors, but because of the two different authors’ characters-relationship development. The A Xu and Lao Wen personalities, their gradual bonding, the constant turbulence and their distinct complex personalities are explicitly written and show more of a symbiosis. Don’t get me wrong. Reading MXTX’s novel series is intriguing and addicting, yet I find Lan Wangi’s character could have been more explicitly developed, shadowed by Wei Wuxian’s meteor-dense personality. Just my opinion as a writer and author.
