Wenceslas Square is one of the city's main squares and a center of business and community culture in Prague, Czech Republic. Many historical events has taken place there, and it is a traditional place for meeting, celebrations, and other public perfomance. The square is named after Saint Václav, the patron of Bohemia. It is part of the historic center of Prague, a World Heritage Site.
Formerly known as the Horse Market periodically during the Middle Ages, In 1848 at the request of Karel Havlíček Borovský it was renamed Wenceslas Square .
