I think everything from 1:15 on is the strongest part and practically screams "Wendigo" to me. The first half is great, don't get me wrong, and an elk's bugling is definitely one of the most eerie sounds in nature. But in the last half of the video the way the bugling mixes seamlessly with that guttural growl really gives me the impression of an eldritch, cannibalistic predator. Great job.

Imagine pranking someone by putting speakers in the woods while on a camping trip with a group of friends and saying, you need to go get fire wood for a camp fire so you go wait outside for a while until someone gets concerned on how long its taking and goes to look for you. Then throughout the time you had you were getting in a wendigo costume with special effects whilst stalking the person playing the sound on the speaker, then screaming help out loud would you do this to your friends?

Contrary to beliefs, a wendigo is just an extremely territorial animal, and less of a protector of its forest. Still, they have a sort of OCD with their territory, where they meticulously keep track of everything inside of it, which is why they tend to react to anything causing a disturbance. The thought of why they are so aggressive to disturbances is that their territory is part of courtship displays, kind of an art piece they work on constantly to attract mates. This is supported by the fact that a wendigo will not lash out at another wendigo in their territory during early spring, the mating season of wendigo. Wendigo nests are hard to spot, especially since they are kept in the middle of their territory, but can be seen as massive makeshift shelters of twisting branches and leaves, often left still rooted and growing from nearby flora. These shelters are usually in the forest canopies, with one or two entrances nearer to the forest floor. Wendigo most commonly will vocalize to warn trespassers who are in their territory, but if the trespasser is already disturbing the territory in some way, or are very close to their nest, the wendigo may not give such a warning and immediately attack.

some parts are quite creepy because it's similar enough to make you think it might be a deer but it's off enough that you know it's not a deer. XD I think that's how i would imagine wendigo sounds, close enough so their preys won't run immediately and while instead tried to determined if they are hearing what they think/hope they're hearing.

What I find interesting is people keep depicting the monster as a "elk /deer bone demon" when it originally is humanoid skeletal spirit. Idk if it actually makes noise like a skin walker that mimics voices but I always found it odd
