Thanks to you dear Wendy ! ☺️🙏🏻 When I was a young rider, I instinctively was following the swing of the horse when I was doing rising trot. Or any other type of horses motion . Now, I need these wonderful tutorials because my bad knees changed my seat. 🙄👎🏻 Hopefully due to Callie's lessons and your deep knowledge I made a very good rising trot last time and I was so so happy !!! 😄👌🏻🐴💖

I can't help but wonder if some of those driving posture issues would be fixed if we all drove standard shift vehicles...Both feet are needed & used & I would think the driver would have to sit straighter. It's probably wrong, but when I trot my horse in my cutback saddle, I think of it as not rising but holding myself up. When the downward motion of the horse happens, you just don't follow him...seems to work for us...

Great point with driving and that is a good way to think of sitting when you are trotting. Really appreciate you watching and commenting!

It makes perfect sense, and it reminds me of how I was told to keep the bottoms of my feet parallel to the ground when I was taught to ride.

Absolutely no disrespect - 100% curiosity - because this is a HUGE struggle for me: In the riding part of the video, you still look tipped forward to me in the upper body. Is a certain amount of tilt forward ok? I constantly get the "lean back" comment. From your video, I think bracing in the stirrup is the main culprit and that makes so much sense to me. Now I'm trying to figure out how to achieve this swing without slamming in the saddle when I sit. Sometimes I feel like I lean forward to sort of "sit softer," which I'm realizing from that video probably isn't accurate.
