As someone who personally gets tied up in things and doesn't always have time to respond to friends when they call or text, I honestly don't think Mariah intended any shade towards Brenda at all. It's been long-time known now that Mariah Carey is a very hardworking person, and it's also very busy. The problem is, people on the outside don't necessarily understand that, and they think because you're caught up in your legitimately busy schedule, that you think you're better than them. Mariah Carey is all over the world on a regular basis; when the hell does she exactly have time to go to the mall for a minute to hang out? Not to mention, Brenda sounds like a very arrogant and abrasive person. Never trust somebody that calls themselves a "good person", but rarely actually acts like one...

I understand why she's bitter. Hate is sadness turned outward. She obviously thought she and Mariah were close. And she expected Mariah to take her along for the ride. But the reality is that Mariah didn't owe Brenda anything. And sometimes what YOU feel about someone else doesn't necessarily mean they feel the same way about you. If Mariah did consider herself white in the late 80s I can see why. It was taboo to be mixed, not now but back then it was. People looked down on that and growing up was hard for you. Being mixed was worse than being just black..people didn't get interracial marriage/family. She wasn't completely off she is mostly white and looks white. But Mariah does accept herself for who she is if you watch somenof her interviews she claims being multiracial. Mom is full white, dad is Venezuelan and African-American so technically she is mostly white 1/4 black & 1/4 hispanic.

The breasts are obvious but I don't believe Mariah has had anything done facially. lol Mariah has always looked mixed... it's just after her debut, SONY/Columbia did a REALLY good job at whitening her up. Before her debut (and for a while afterwards) you just kind of had a hunch that she may be mixed (She looked very white-passing). However, after she broke off from Columbia and her first husband, she did a VERY quick job (Aside from the bleaching) to try and blacken herself up (Fake tans/bronzing, no contouring to define the nose, etc. etc.). It's not very hard to make a white-passing mixed person look completely white, you know. A little contouring, straighten the hair, a good lighting and your mixed person looks like your average-day white person. I don't believe Mariah claimed to be white, but then again, you never know.

calaragazza I think that was the contouring makeup that she began to use after a while (There are videos of her in which her stylists are in the process of contouring her face, embellishing upon her cheekbones and defining the bridge of her nose to make it look smaller). Let's not forget the magic of makeup. It's about creating illusions. Remember when she debuted she had a very natural look to herself, because she used very light makeup (and the natural look was big in the early 90's). But as she went on, her makeup began to get heavier and heavier and she experimented with different styles and tones. Plus as you age, surgeries tend to wear off (I think everyone seems to forget this, or maybe everyone thinks a surgery is seriously permanent). Nosejobs will lose the definition, nostrils widen again, breast augmentation deflates, along with any other augmentations. She would have to keep going back to get the augmentations again, which is advised against any doctor (Especially for a popular singer). I don't believe they would have allowed her to keep going. Facially, Mimi looks the same as she always has, to me.

the day of TEOM's release, and i met her daughter and her other kid and her nephew too. But if they start letting fame get to them, hangin out with a bunch of snobs, not speaking or hanging out with u like you used to, (forgetting the "little people"), & eventually not talking to u at all, I'm sure anyone would be hurt, upset, or bitter. ElectrikArguement I doubt they were best friends, Mariah was merely her backup singer. She remade Brenda's top hit as a tribute which should have been an honour for brenda. She no doubt helped Mariah to get into the business, but that's not something you can hold over a person for 20 years. People change, relationships fade and new relationships are made.
