Banana flowers is a frequent dish at my home. Usually we just boil it and eat it with sambal and rice! Funny things is we refer the flower as banana heart in our language😂

Wendy, next time you try cooking beef rendang, use fresh galangal rather than the powder one, blend the lemongrass, and use cumin, corriander, and some fennel seed too, also throw the kefir leaf when the rendang still cooked to get the aroma and flavor in. Overall, good job for your first try, it's not an easy dish to learn~~

Heyy, I'm from india, in a state called kerala. So basically, The banana flower means. There will be bunch of bananas on a stick kind of thing on the tree, and at the bottom of the stick there will be this flower. We cook banana flower as a side dish for rice! Banana tree is common here!

Well Chinese isn't an ethnicity, Han is. I'm also half "Vietnamese (forgot the name of the majority ethnic Vietnamese people" but my other half is Dai (one of the ethnic groups found in China and other South East Asian countries). Was raised however with Cantonese and Viet culture. Dai culture was mostly from the language my mom spoke.
