I like poly-cotton for more structured blouses or shirts and for structured dresses like shirt dresses or a simple shift dress. A lot of people turn their noses up at it because of the polyester content in it but to me, it's the best of both worlds. It doesn't wrinkle because of the polyester, but still breathes because of the cotton in it. I love your excitement and enthusiasm. I smiled through your entire video.

Absolutely love this video; you have a super personality. I'm not keen on polycotton TBH but my friend often buys it and she made herself a lovely dress with the blue and pink floral you've got. Really useful video. Please do one each time you have new fabric from PF. I’m not a fan of Polycotton. Partly because it’s no where as comfortable to where as natural fibres (including Viscose - made from wood pulp). Even with some cotton, the fabric won’t breath, so there is a risk of feeling cold on cool days and too hot on warm days. Polyester is also bad for the environment. It does often get my attention though because it comes in such lovely colours and patterns. My go to fabrics are Viscose, cotton and double gauze.

Hi Ann! I've not tried double gauze yet and have seen lots of lovely garments made with it on the PF facebook group and inspiration tab on their website. So maybe it's time I tried it x

@@WendyStanbury I love double gauze. It’s so breathable, snuggle on a chilly day, but just the best for a summer dress on a hot day. It’s so soft, it’s wonderful for pyjamas too 🙂

hi Wendy the poly cotton would be lovely as a shirt i use the ellie and mac pyjama set pattern there is a multitude of options with that pattern a pyjama shirt and bottoms is one of them.

Just found you, and loved the video! I could have been watching myself when I get a package of fabric in the mail!! Pure love and joy! I love your fabrics! Thank you for listing them below. I enjoy polycotton. Polyester helps cotton to be a bit less wrinkly, and it can give it a bit more drape.

I went on pound fabrics last night and put some fabrics in my basket, went to the till and realised how much it was, I then thought about the fabric I had bought over the past few weeks ( well over £200 ) so I emptied the basket. I went back on half way through your video and had to pull myself off it. I have purchased loads of fabrics and done nothing with any of them. I need to sort myself out, but I am so tempted by the fabrics you have bought .

Hi Wendy, love the fabrics, I like small prints , I left school in the 70's my first job was a sewing machinist, made skirts the odd blouse and stuff for my daughter when she was little then lost interest in sewing 🫤 and I've put weight on , I'm a pear shape , so fiddling getting the garment cut out and to fit seems an arduous task, hey-ho, but you are inspiring and I love your bubbly personality, happy sewing 🤩 xx

I always go for 3 meters too. The blue polycotton at a £1 a meter I would make a lovely dress. For me personally I will be making the blouse your wearing in the rust. Pattern is here just waiting for delivery of the fabric . Thank you for the video and the inspiration 😀

Hi Wendy, love the video which I watched after seeing your FB post on the PF Group page. I don't like wearing skirts or shorts so, for the summer, I use polycotton to make lightweight trousers from my 'go to' pattern. I can get one pair from 2m of fabric, they are cool and comfortable to wear and wash and dry well (but do need ironing).

It's Simplicity 9018. Has several co-ordinating pieces all of which are quick and easy to make (in pattern sizes I need a 24-26 so good ones aren't easy to find) - it's very adaptable and the trousers have in-seam pockets :D

The pink and purple poly cottons would make a nice wrap half-circle/circle skirt. I copied a pattern from a Japanese pattern book from the library .. and added about 4 inches to make an XL. Book is "Shape Shape 2" by Natsuno Hiraiwa. It is an unusual design .. does NOT fly open. It adjusts with my figure.

I liked Pound Fabrics until they increased their delivery charges to where I live. Now it’s too expensive. Really annoying 😡

Oh no that's a shame. I've only been shopping with the this year so unaware of any increased delivery charges. Must admit I don't like paying P&P, but their fabric is so reasonable it offsets the P&P in my mind, well that's what I say to myself to justify the pruchase hee hee!
