It depends on how fast you walk. But if you started early in the morning (around 5-6 am) from Kohima, then you can return back easily before sunset.

Plan and visit Dzukou valley again.Camp and explore the whole area.In addition if you want real hiking experience.Start your hike from Jakhama route instead of the Viswema route which you guys opted.Its really steep but fun when you're in group.
