Sonya is the one who orchestrated her being a lagger. They set her up, and I’m not sure if all of Lizs drinking caused her early Dementia but all the stress and paranoia from Sonya sure didn’t help her state of mind either. Poor Liz! 😢

I totally agree. While this didn't "cause" her dementia per se, it definitely didn't help it and probably helped bring it on. I miss her character so much, she was so sweet and such a good person. Very multifaceted character.

I'm really disappointed in the direction Liz's character is going. She's been the one constant on the show, the sweet mother figure who truly cares about the women and everything she did, lagging and all, was done with pure intentions and now she has dementia? She doesn't deserve that. There will be no happy ending for her and it breaks my heart. The Freak may have been a psychopath who did awful things but she still had a vulnerable side that made you feel for her and even love her at times such as losing Jianna, her breakdowns and the illusions of her father but Sonia has nothing that makes you like her. She's just plain cruel and I would love to see Liz stand up for once and take her out.

Honestly, Liz got off lucky! All they did was yell, shove, and throw plants and dirt at her. She didn't even get shanked, nor beaten up--and I know that these women are capable of that. For lagging to be the worst offense in a prison, it's a miracle that she walked away from this unharmed.
