Mobs are the bane of my existence. I play on a one block world where you explore different islands with the items given and eventually defeat the dragon. I placed so many torches you see one ever 2 blocks, and put slabs on the tops of walls so mobs won't spawn, but either it's something in the settings of the map or mojang changed things in the new update because mobs spawn on slabs in my world. They also spawn in groups of torches which shouldn't happen. So every time I turn around, I get met with a zombie, and my animal farms are constantly filled with creepers. So yeah, walls don't help me, but glad they help you!
