Yes, in those toxic relationship that’s how the other person tries to keep you in check and make themselves feel like they have the power they actually lack and that they know you have (but they want to diminish it), in order to feel better about themselves because they feel insecure. You could see in this clip that he feels insecure that Monie has all this history of success and achievements, has a personality and is held in high regard and loved by many. He cheated when he knew he had her cornered by pregnancy and she wasn’t going anywhere. And of course when she didn’t leave, he did it more because he saw she had no boundaries in place.
