You can be friends with your kids my mom is my friend and always have been, yes there were times were my mouth over rode my ass but I was put back in my place at the same time. She always reminded me I'm your friend but I'm also your parent first, and some parents doesn't make that known from jump. Though I am 31 now there are times that I say curse words in front of my mom by accident that's just how I express myself especially when I am upset, sometimes she have to bring me back down and sometimes it's whatever do I mean to disrespect no but she will always be my mom first and my friend second. I also talk to my mom about any and everything even though her opinions and views upset me and I get annoyed I have to walk away until I'm okay to finish talking, Charlie just need someone to listen and not always have a opinion unless asked just a listening ear. Tammy is doing a fine job she just need to word her opinions different when needed and sometimes just nod and it will be okay with a hug at the end lol it really does help.
