Francisco Domínguez Brito, member of the Political Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), sent a subliminal and clear message to Danilo Medina about the permanence of the former president leading the purple organization.
The former attorney general used a metaphor from his life as an example, to suggest to the high militant to pass the command to other hands, although he continues to guide as a member.
“My mother raised me with a grocery store, she was at the counter for years, but if I am a son who loves my mother I will tell her, I love her, but you have been in that grocery store for a long time, leave the counter to me, although you will continue to be the guide,” said Domínguez Brito comparing the grocery store with the purple party.
In view of the selection of new militants within the PLD, to be held on October 27, Brito says he trusts the decisions of the Central Committee.
"I am incapable of disrespecting Danilo, he is not against anyone but in favor of renewal" he said, but it is the duty of the children and leaders to deal with new ideas and decisions in favor of the political body.
The PLD will hold internal elections on Sunday, October 27, in which it will choose the members of its political committee, its general secretary and its president.
