How many bolts to you work on that will allow you to do this that easy? If it were that easy, you could use your fingers, even quicker. No tools required.

true if there's room for this ratchet you migth as well just use the air ratchet or impact wrench
@Ryan-re1rs8 жыл бұрын
broderp honestly a shit ton.. not sure what you work on all day, but most of my jobs don't have some crazy tight shit tapped holes where I couldn't use the spin twist features of this. not saying you can spin it as fast as this guy showed, but there are many times where I'm hand turning the socket to speed things up before cranking them. I see space being an issue. maybe im not sure what you work on that this couldn't work, can you give me some ideas why this wouldn't work well, besides rusted crap tapped holes? why would I buy a regular ratchet over this is what I'm saying? and the guy who said air or power tools, well I don't carry an air compressor on all my jobs.. this is to replace a ratchet, not a freaking impact tool. plus, not everything needs to be hammered in with an impact.
@TheFreakyJhonny8 жыл бұрын
Ryan W when you're wokin on a car there's almost no screw that can be twisted that easily, 95% are rusty and you need to carefully break them loose(well, sometimes with a bit of violence) and getting them all the way out requires a ratchet cuz they are either only accessable at an angle or just require some torque to get them out, or even both if you work with new stuff only, good, then this tool might be for you, but no mechanic can get any use out of this
@keshlalish55868 жыл бұрын
this is a nice house ratchet. but nothing more, in a garage the guys won't play around with this, they will take the air ratchet and an extension and do the job AND finish the job. does it have it's place ? sure in an appartment tool cabinet

For all the people that have never used this, I have the 1/4" drive set and its amazing, apart from some of the larger sizes, i used the 1/4" drive set to disconnect everything before i removed the engine from a car so i don't think there are any quality issues or worries about it breaking as I was really leaning on this little set.

I have a snap on 100t that pivots like that and its super smooth and the spinning it is great for oil changes. Usually if there is room to spin out any other bolt i put an air tool on it though.

Not sure about bolts, but a lot of cars used to use (and some still use) knock-off wheels. You have a one large center nut holding the wheel on and drive pins, keys, or splines to transmit the torque. They call them knock-off's because the nut usually has two or three wings coming off of it that you hit with a hammer (usually lead or rubber) to loosen and tighten it.
@sethc7587 жыл бұрын
You can do that with any round head swivel ratchet... or speed handle.

Apparently, all of you forgot your high school physics classes on torque. The handle on that tool multiplies the turning force. It is the same reason that screw drivers have handles......I'll assume its been 30 years since most of you have been in school. I can understand. Age gets to you after some time. Hell, even I forgot over half the stuff I learned. :(

if you can run it without locking the head that's ok but if not then i would not buy, as often you have to change the angel of the head as you swing the ratchet around things in a tight space

can not always do that..only yesterday was using a flex-head ratchet ..i could only just fit the socket and ratchet in and the move the handle a small amount and then flex the Handel to one side to get a good long movement...with a fixed head ratchet i will have been stuck with just 2 or 3 clicks on a fine 72 teeth ratchet

Nice tool, and well made video for sure, however its not really accurate to say this is the worlds fastest ratchet, Sears has a Craftsman Mach series unit that is a cross between this and a yankee spriral screwdriver, definitely as fast as this if not certainly faster, this one does have locking head positions the mach unit doesnt have though. Master Mechanic has their "Swiftdriver", a toothless ratchet that rotates the desired direction even when you rotate the handle the other way with a 1:1 ratio!! Definitely faster than this, but it doesnt fold to become a wrench. And there are several brands of ratchet wrenches that rotate the desired direction when you twist the handle either way, only have 1:3 ratio, but still better than a 5 degree swing requirement. Then I assume we are talking about manual tools, Cause once you go to electric or pnuematic, definitely have faster ratchets in the world!

Yeah I have a 3/8” Mac and even a Kobalt 1/4”. Their really nothing special and even though I own two I almost never use them unless a flex head won’t get at the nut because of the angle.id say these two are my least used ratchets out of all my ratchets. For speed I use a long extension and once it’s moving freely I pop the ratchet off and use my fingers on the extension. It’s just as fast and cheaper.

It isn't. It's called a roto ratchet. A lot of companies make them (Snap-On, SK, Gear Wrench, Craftsman, etc.) - they just don't market them as the "world's fastest ratchet". The 3/8" drive is pretty convenient when you're working on small engines or anything like that that you have good access to.
