As a huge Elvis fan, this was a real treat. If you go to Memphis and take the Graceland tour, I would recommend taking the VIP tour. It costs extra but you get to see some extra rooms not included on the general tour - totally worth it! Also worth checking out: Sun Studios where Elvis first recorded and the Civil Rights Museum where MLK Jr was shot.

I was born in MS, too. I'm so glad you made a video there. There is so much history there, especially musical history. Vernon forged a $3 check for groceries. He was sent to the State Pentientiary at Parchman for a few years, but got out early for good behavior.

Hi Justin. Love that you are back posting videos. A different origin for "Shotgun" houses that I learned working at a historic house museum in Dallas is that "Shotgun" is actually a corruption of the West African word "to-gun" which means a gathering spot, or place to assemble. I know you like learning new things, so I thought I would share. Have a safe trip back to Cali!

I'm glad all the extra monuments weren't there in 2007 so I had less to film. Amazed that the lady inside the Birth Home didn't tell you to turn off the cam. Are they progressing..?

Honestly, I played the piano for a church that looked pretty much like that (except it was Baptist) when I was a teenager. And that sign on the wall that tells you how much the last offering was, and how many people were there? Just about every small church in the south has one of those!

crazy fact..... i grew up down the street from elvis first house he ever bought in Memphis. It was on audubon drive, you should stop by there one day if your ever around. and i have lived in memphis all my 32 years of life and only went to graceland once. And never been to his birthplace, even though i passed through tupelo many times going to college at missisisppi state.

great vlog! ive been there but it was good to see it again. im really surprised they misspelled his name on those signs though. his name is Elvis Aron, one "a", not two. it's for his brother, Jessie Garon. his tombstone is also misspelled, which played into the legend that if a tombstone is misspelled then the person isnt really dead, or someone else is buried there. but thats just a saying. also, his dad was sentenced for forging a $40 check. thanks again.....i love me some Elvis!!!! ❤💋🎤 did you visit Sun Studios in Memphis? if you haven't yet, it's a must!

16:19 So I asked ChatGPT for an answer and this is what it wrote: Using "died at" versus "died in" can depend on the context and the speaker or writer's preference. "Died at" is commonly used when referring to a specific location where the person passed away, such as a hospital or their home. It emphasizes the place where the person died, rather than just the general location where they were living at the time of their death. On the other hand, "died in" can be used more broadly to refer to the general location or city where the person passed away, without specifying a particular place. In the context of obituaries or biographical writing, it is common to use both "lived in" and "died at" to provide a more detailed and complete picture of the person's life.

I keep looking at the Tupelo logo and I can't figure out what can't be unseen about it and what it reminds Justin of. It's a crown and it sorta looks like the NBC rainbow peacock, and it's really busy and kind of ugly, but I don't get it.
