We spent a week in South Fork last September. I was hoping to fish the Rio in the canyon downstream from Rio Grand Reservoir but the lake was discharging green water. The whole river downstream to Creede was filled with green moss. Even at that same bridge the water was green and slimy. It had been a hot summer I was told. I decided to concentrate downstream around that same campground and walked upstream on the same tracks. The water quality was much better. Managed to catch 4 or 5 nice browns in the 14” to 16” range.. I was told that canyon fished really well in July. Thanks for another great video.

The good ol rio grande. One of my favorite colorado rivers. I've noticed it seems to be a brown dominant river but I've hooked a few bows here and there. I went last year in the middle of December and most of the river was still frozen but was able to find a sliver of open river and nail a handful of browns with a hares ear trailing behind a black stone.

There were so many browns! They were spunky as hell!

“The land of guides and locals” totally agree on the guide part lol, Colorado is disturbingly commercialized can only imagine being there before the population boom.
@FLYALLSZN2 жыл бұрын
It is extremely commercialized. There are still plenty of places you can go and be alone! You just have to skip the easy access or do what we did and fish an off season.
