It was the biggest mistake of my life but I can at least say I have my beautiful children. I am happy about that. Even though none of them were actually planned. I was just young, dumb, naive, weak, gullible and inexperienced. He was the first man I’ve ever been with. I’ve learned A LOT tho and he hates this new strong self of mine. I am in my mid 30’s now and preparing to leave. I was angry for so long but no point of being angry. I just turned that anger into power and getting my feet back into the work force so I can leave him. I depended on him financially and since he was and still is a good provider, it was hard for me to leave. I felt I wouldn’t survive this life without him. And I think that’s also what made him not a good ma. He used the “I pay for everything” card to abuse me. I did everything I thought was right as a wife. I was submissive and caused no drama. Took care of the home, myself and the kids and still he treated me poorly and like shit and I just took it because I was afraid of leaving him. But no more. So, good for you. I wish I had someone tell me this before. I had no one to guide me growing up so I had to learn the hard way.

I really don’t understand why men are like this. Like why are they afraid of strong women?? My husband never uplifted me. He always wanted to keep me down and low. I never realized this until years later. He wouldn’t even show me affectionate, love, gentleness and comfort. If he did it was crumbs. For yeeeeears. Still the same today. He comes off like this confident man. But now I know it was all fake. Cus anytime I wanted to empower myself or confront him of his lies and bs is when he would become a monster. He was always controlling but didn’t need to be too much because I always listened to him. He had his way for years. So now that I want a life for myself he doesn’t like it. He wants me to stay where I am and never grow. He never supports me. Literally never. If he did it was fake and crumbs and maybe a benefit for him. I realized he wasn’t really confident. It was just easier to pretend he’s confident when I was low and “beneath” him. I honestly think when you’re with someone who isn’t a good person it really can ruin your life if you’re not strong enough to leave them. And now it’s harder for me as we have kids but finally I have confidence to leave when I get my ducks in a row.
