The worst part about the Harlequin’s Kiss is that it’s most prominently seen in the hands of a Solitaire. Harlequins have found a way to keep their souls from being devoured by Slaanesh, or She-Who-Thirsts as the Eldar call it. They’re also, as you can probably guess, Eldar clowns. (What the Eldar, a race that literally murder orgy’d a chaos god into existence, find funny is a lot more extreme than humans.) So they go to both the Aeldari and Drukhari as a neutral third party and put on a play to remind them of their common history. However, the one designated to play the role of She-Who-Thirsts is doomed to have their souls consumed by Slaanesh. As you can guess, these are the Solitaires. Outcasts for their role in the play, doomed to their inevitable fate, yet none are more dazzling. Harlequins are already acrobatic soldiers. Imagine Cirque du Soleil, but more murder. A Solitaire takes that to the extreme. They have an an anti-gravity belt like all Harlequins, but they also have three things unique to them. The Harlequin’s Kiss, as described in the video. The Harlequin’s Caress, an energy field surrounding the Harlequin’s hands that turn it into a weapon comparable to the strength of an Imperial power weapon. And the Holo-Suit, a psychically activated bodysuit that transforms the Solitaire into a burst of dazzling colors and explosions of light, making it virtually impossible to hit them as their enemies are dumbfounded by the display. The faster they go, the more pronounced the effect.

you missed one detail of the devourer that really makes it shine as the second worst weapon of the nids its the path those worms make they arnt actually very good at eating trough flesh and bone, beetles are used for that but the softest tastiest part of a creature devourer worms love to eat is nerves they are made to eat their way along the most painful path, and few is the guardsmen not wishing for death before they finally arrive at the brain it makes the gun so great at breaking morale (not that the TT represent it in any way, they even lost their living ammo trait since 4th :( ) because the death is slow, and they will be screaming the entire time but the best is the barbed strangler its like that eldar string cannon, but not fast and painless and with lots of extra thorns seed hits body or ground and a giant bush of barbed vines burst out and entangle the target and grow tighter with every struggle while the thorns dig into flesh and feast on blood to grow the plant more, both more vines to grasp nearby enemys or roots to latch onto more of those already caught its usually not the weapon that tears its victim apart but the victim itself as they trash in pain as more thorns keep piercing their flesh and roots start to grow deeper into bones and nerves pulling themself free, just without their flesh

The humble (or not-so-humble because it’s basically magic) Necron gauss weapon is terrifying because of how simple its wielders consider it. It doesn’t shoot projectiles in the normal sense; rather, it fires a focused magnetic beam that severs molecular bonds and attracts atoms towards the gun. The green beams seen in 40k art and games aren’t fired from the gauss weapon. The magnetic beam is invisible, but it rips oxygen apart into single atoms as it travels, generating a green glow like an aurora. When the beam hits something, it starts pulling it apart layer by layer (which is why the guns are called gauss flayers). This is extraordinarily painful if it doesn’t instantly reduce the target to dust. Keep in mind that this is the BASIC Necron weapon. Scary.

@@curtismcpsycho8212 , God Killers... imagine weapons that influence the heavens themselves, and what that does to the material plane. As much as I don't agree with the Dark Forest concept, the author had some really nifty ideas... and it is clear 40k pinched some of them. For example - The universe that we know, our reality, is a fragment of a much more perfect universe that saw battles involving weapons that influenced space itself. Not like 'create black hole' type of influence, but as in make it so space itself no longer has X number of dimensions. Rips in fundamental laws of physics themselves, thrown around as if they where nothing more then stones to lob at one's enemy to make them go away.... The Necrons had weapons just like that, with the current Warp being created by the fallout of their use.

I remember there was one book where chaos soldiers were trying to locate an item in this one star system. I think it was called the Heart of Something. Supposedly it was a device of immense power. Turns out that it was an Eldar device that had shrunk down and contained a green giant STAR that had originally been part of the system. And the book ends with the IG soldiers turning off the containment measures on purpose and letting the star expand to its original size, taking the empty world it'd been placed on with it. So pocket-sized Stars are kinda a thing too. The Eldar used to Pokeball them for fun I guess.

While it's not necessarily grimdark in nature the necrons have a weapon that projects a holographic map of the universe that updates in real time. What makes it a weapon is when you touch a star in this holographic projection said star in real space goes super nova (also the necrons that currently guard it with religious zealotry from other necrons call themselves the galaxys gardeners)...mind you this necron tech weapon was considered tame enough by the silent king to not be destroyed before he went on his 65 million year voyage out into unknown space. Which really puts into perspective how insane the war in heaven was when there were necron weapons that dwarf something that causes stars to go super nova just from touching a hologram of it.

Turned into a servitor but still concious, Brain parasite takes over your body, but still concious, Disease turns you into a zombie, but still concious and so on. Just at a point now that when i hear it i just roll my eyes because its just such a cliche at this point. Its like all the writers suffer from sleep paralysis and thats all they can write about.

This is just semantics but GW meant to use the word "monomolecular" and not "monofilament" "Monofilament" refers to a single strand of material, in deference to a twisted or braided rope of multiple strands [ie monofilament fishing line] The Shokk Attack Gun is an interesting one: depending on how screwy the teleportation/portal physics are, when the gretchin materializes _inside_ another object (or person) the atoms of both the gretchin and their new life partner could catastrophically annihilate eachother as they tried to move out of the way to make room - resulting in a probably atom bomb scale explosion. I do work in a machine shop and lathes _are_ one of the most dangerous tools. Anything that spins with enough torque to cut steel is not something you want your hair, fingers, clothing or genitals getting caught in. Also the "horizontal band saw" and band saws in general for that matter.

Surprised the D-scythe isn’t on there. It’s a gun that rips the soul out a body and sends it directly to the warp. It’s considered so horrible that no living eldar is expected to wield it and so powerful it can even severe the memory engrams of necrons even though they lack a true soul.

Man your cranking out such great content! There's alot of warhammer youtubers but none match your pure enthusiasm for the setting. Keep up the great work 😁

a thought on the shokk attack gun... sending a snotling through the warp to a target, while taking a fraction of a second in real time, could actuaaally last for months for the snotling before it re-emerges at the taarget. Becuz, #thewarp

Well the Walking Pox works the way it does because it's a mix of multiple Nurgle plagues including the Zombie Plague, the Destroyer Plague and even Nurgle's Rot.

Here is something needlessly dark (Credit to MajorKill) Grimderp boots wich teleport babies below them, every time you take a step with them.

Honestly one of the aspects I usually enjoy the most about the different univereses is the kind of weapons they wield, and I gotta say warhammer isn't disappointing in that regard.

The Shokk Attack Gun is definitely my favorite

When I worked at a lumber mill the lathe got jammed.Maintenance didn't shut the power off and used a steel pipe to unjam it. When it started to rotate again the pipe impaled him. He's still alive.

I always find it interesting that it's always the Harlequin's Kiss that's mentioned, and no-one ever mentions the Shrieker shots fired by the Death Jesters? Razor sharp crystal shuriken filled with a neuro-toxin that makes the target move unpredictably until their head explodes, raining brain-goo and skull fragments on the rest of the target's squad.....

One terrifying thing about death spinners which wasn’t mentioned is the fact that a smaller, portable version can be used by the warp spiders. Aspect of elite warriors who teleport behind their enemies using similar method to the Teliporta, just more controlled and elegant. Meaning that a squad of elite edged up space elves (who are kinda ded from the inside due their reliance on the warp) can just appear behind you and your mates. Obviserate you all in a swift storm of blades. And begone before anyone can notice.

personally my go-to reference for the ridiculously dark over the top of 40k is the radiation cannon used by the mechanicus in the soul drinkers books

40k: Great lore up to 3rd edition, some magnificent design concepts, all held back by messy rules and a predatory P2W scheme. Also: what happened to Slaanesh's 'needle of extasy'? Instant terminal addiction on stab, the victim clinging to the arm of the wielder until death by overdose.

Bubble Chukka here! In previous edition it had a lot more randomness, you just threw handfuls of dice at your opponent till they went away....
