dohn mehg is definitely punishing your first time and i've seen a lot of death in the first pull... but that's the sort of thing that makes a dungeon rate badly on the first attempt, and keeps in interesting when you're grinding it. it grew on me a ton as I was leveling characters up to 80 also, it being a dungeon that isn't about defeating an enemy, but the pixie's friends testing you is an interesting difference

Shadowbringers dungeons was pretty lit overall but that might be my bias talking since I started in the middle of the expansion.

I LOVED The Heroes Gauntlet...the first couple times. At around the twentieth time of doing it trying to get a specific gear piece I never want to do it again.

yeah, if i judged dungeons by the 1st, 3rd, and 20th iterations, a lot of them would change places for me dohn mheg is an example of a dungeon that stands up to heavy repetition to me, as does Shisui of the violet tides

Amaurot has a special place in my heart because right as we killed the boss on our second try, I fell off the platform and it completely killed the tension. It was really funny in the moment and I needed to take a 10 minute break to draw it

My favorites are the setpiece dungeons where there's other stuff going on around you, like Ghimlyt Dark and Heroes' Gauntlet.

the fact that you have to click and confirm 5 times the portals in matoya’s relict is enough to make it one of the most annoying dungeons of the game to me 🥴 that’s something that i kind of feel shadowbringers dungeon have in common, a lot of them have a lot of waiting for things, waiting for allies to make a path, clicking portals, waiting on transitions. I feel like SB and EW dungeons are much more snappy (besides vanaspati), not much waiting around, and to me it makes for a better roulette experience

Your forgetting the 89 dungeon which has a cutscene inside it. The ilberd mini boss is impossible until the dialogue and animation plays so your just sitting there while everyone wastes their cooldowns on him. Then the first pull after the first boss is semi scripted too. After a certain amount of time passes the enemies take a lot of damage and die quickly meaning you might have wasted your cooldowns on them for no reason. Then you have to stop and wait in the aoe to be buffed and on top of all that it has platforms you wait for.
