Ive crabbed from the Ilwaco Jetty for over 30 years...an excellent way to spend the day with the family! One pointer for you...when you pick up your pole...slowly reel in the excess line...when your snug lift the rod tip and keep it up... do not pump the rod, like you would do fighting a fish....just a little pressure released from your snare they may get out. Keep making awesome memories

6 inches here at Westport on the coast. They have signs all over the docks showing rules and regulations and picture diagram of how to measure. But that don’t stop people either, or the wardens from what I heard. Even with them there people still come and poach.

she was driving fish and wildlife truck parked right at the entrance, bucket had fish and wildlife sticker on the side of a ace hardware bucket, she was checking people leaving and throwing peoples under-size crab back. film at 8:16 wearing a department of fish and wildlife shirt with logo. but should I have asked for an official badge to make sure it was legit? good observation!

I say let her operate even if she's not fish and Wildlife. The poachers are rampant there and despite WDFW making some decent collars there the problem persists.

Fish and wildlife in my area are full battle rattle officers. I'm in Washington state as well. I'd definitely ask questions next time and contact your local fish and wildlife office, and ask about her. Jeans, xtratuffs, no badge, no firearm, no uniform. Seems weird

The Westport boat basin is the worst place to crab because people are constantly poaching there, taking too many crab,and undersized crab. Lots of Coho snaggers also.

thats too bad.. just like many other popular places
@brianskinner57119 ай бұрын
It's even worse at Tokeland. Undersized and females are taken. There is also a permanent poacher that has his pots out 24 hours a day year round. If you turn your back to go take a leak your pots will be stripped, and overnight soaks are guaranteed to have your gear stolen.
