West Coast Racers Front Row POV Opening Day at Six Flags Magic Mountain. 12-21-2019 This was my experience riding on the new West Coast Racers roller coaster ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain. On Ride Front Row POV with 4K HD GoPro 7 Black with hypersmooth technology. The coaster was a very well constructed and smooth ride. The only thing missing is the halfway pitstop show before coming out of the garage for the second race launch. They will be adding more theming entertainment in that room while you are waiting for the other train to load up for the race. The best part of this coaster is that you will be racing / dueling the other track every time and you get to race twice per ride making it super enjoyable. Seating is comfortable not as restrictive like some of the other older rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Overall I would give West Coast Racers a 8 out fo 10 rating.

Took some time, but this turned out really cool. Doesnt look like the most intense ride, but its action packed and the pacing looks great, apart from the pitstop (if you could call it a pitstop, its more like an entire maintenance service lmao) of course but I suppose its worth it for the dueling aspect.

Lots of dueling going on in this POV. Now whether or not Six Flags can pull it off 100% of the time we’ll have to wait and see. You had to wait a long time in the garage to get synchronized with the other train.

This will happen 100% of the time every time. The ride is setup for this to happen always. The wait time in the pit stop can be used to entertain the riders that’s for sure. It’s a little boring just to wait.

It’s not the same setup as TC where the second train keeps going on the track. Here the second train stops every time waiting for the next rain to be ready to go. They can’t send the train otherwise because there is not brakes area for a third train.

When Six Flags Great Adventure hasnt gotten one new custom coaster since 2006 but SFMM gets a second racing custom racing coaster after an RMC custom racer to replace their old wooden one and Rolling thunder got a small commemorative piece left. Nice company.

despite how it looks, it feels much more intense when you're on it. you grey out a bit on both sides but especially the second track. coming out of that first high five element caused my vest to pop open and buttons to snap in one quick motion and phone flew out of my pocket my 5th time on it when i was seated in the front row... ive used this vest and pins to keep my phone safe on every ride at SFMM all year so that should tell you something. but to each their own i guess.it's a great ride

@The Reverend Jim Jones well if you read what I've commented I've used this vest to keep my phone safe and my pinned closed pockets all year long going to the park almost weekly, and never once had it come unbuttoned OR the pins closing the pockets snap off. not on x2, tatsu, twisted, etc. we came through that high five hard enough it popped the button open AND the pin off holding my phone in. my point is that while it didn't look that intense it definitely has done force to it

I'd way rather have this (assuming it's reliable, or more reliable than full throttle, older premiere's, or intamin in general) than jersey devil and I'd also have been fine waiting the whole year if it meant they'd retrack El Toro in full like they did to apocalypse. Give us the magic mountain treatment as I'm going to call in a few years, after jersey devil is done and the kid's section is fixed up (so 2023-2024).

You can't because its programmed to duel every time. They learned what TC was lacking for the duel and made the launches happen 100% every time because the trains are setup to launch together. It's a race theme so its going to need to race every time.

I'm a novice coaster enthusiast. I think Magic Mountain has a pretty good mix of coasters from family friendly to the Beast machines you are talking about.

Magic Mountain has always had the biggest and the best rides. This one just replaced some mediocre rides with a new updated mediocre ride.

As long the kids are 54' inches or taller. Which is the same height limit as Tatsu and x2 and most of the other big coasters

@@Johnnyiswhere I'm sure it's fun, and any good coaster park ought to have a selection of less-intimidating coasters. Don't get me wrong. Would I have fun on this? Sure I would. Would I stand in line 30 minutes for it? Nah, probably not... not in _this_ park anyhow. In a park with little else to offer however, I'd probably marathon it.

@@MrSTONEking only thing that matters to them is how the public responds to WCR. And while I'm sure a dual track coaster isn't cheap, I'm guessing this didn't cost as much as you might think. Premier Rides is far cheaper than almost any other manufacturer, and the tie in with West Coast Customs also helped with the cost.
