So, between working on the projects such as the 3130 and the 2140, I do have to earn money else where! And seeing as there is no contractoring to do, I spend my time doing workshop jobs and repairs for other people.
In this video I will be replacing a worn out rotor on a West 2000 gallon dual spreader, bought in by a customer of mine. In the video you will see that the old rotor is passed the point of economically repairing it. Also, a small interlude with a look at a ‪@KUHNfarmmachinery‬ Euromix 2 feeder wagon, which was bought in for a bearing replacement from another customer

Nice work, We’m enjoying watching another farmer fixing gear! You could buy just the bearing inserts to save money rather than full bearing and blocks.

Thank you 👍 The farmer supplied all the parts to fix it, I was just given the job of doing it 👌

Hateful hateful things those wests..... We ran them for years and years at home on the farm, cant tell you how many times I have forked one out by hand! More time fixing than running from my experiance unless you only spreading slurry / very light stuff! We decided to try a Shelbourne Powerspread Pro after the last west causing so much grief and was the best thing we ever did. Machines are in two totally different leagues, zero issues and output is uncomparable! Good work though all the same!

I completely agree! I've only run one or two, and every time there is something wrong or the ergonomics of it, just don't work at all! I agree that shelbourne is a better machine, but I have to say for user friendliness and general "get the job done" ability! Superior machine, in my opinion! 😊

Re “the little tiny screws that you are never going to get off” why oh why cant they use stainless steel hardware, are they thick or what.

@TheGrimReaper1 It's a good thing I can get a grinder to it. Otherwise, it would have been a nightmare! 🤷‍♂️😂

Yes, I do have plenty of waste oil to get rid of so! They are brilliant! Wouldn't go back to anything else, and sure beats cancer!

We have been looking at a couple of these to replace our rota spreader, they seem hellish money and the comments here have put me off 😮

To replace a rotor spreader, I would go for a shelbourne reynolds power spread dairy pro, either 1600 or 2000, it's a good step up but a lightweight farmers machine, brilliant spread pattern and easy to maintain 😊

@@seggonscontractors588 if it was left to brother and myself it would be another rota spreader but the nephew wants something more posh 🙄

@richardmorgan5785 I'm not a fan of rotor spreaders. However, it is one machine that will spread literally anything and not break, but... they can be very slow 🤷‍♂️

@@seggonscontractors588 not really slow 😁 the 2 Hi Spec 800 we have had could empty in 3 minutes in good dung 😊 they can drag 100 hp down at the time 🤣

@richardmorgan5785 Yes, they can be power hungry sometimes! I find aswell on very sloppy slurry they make a right mess!
