Nice Spec's & how to use Croakers. We got into them Big Momma's & 22" to 24" Reds using larger size finger mullet. We were mainly after the Reds but them big Sows smoked them mullet. I checked their bellies (already laid theit eggs) when we got home & all had finger mullet in them, even the Reds. We tried every plastic, live strimp & corks we had but they were all feeding on bottom in the cuts at XMas Bay. I was catching tiny baby Spec's in the cast net yesterday out there.

Nice, we were smoking 18 to 22" Spec's on MirrOdine Mirrow Lures the past few days in Surf by San Luis Pass. Know we got a "Bacteria Warning" for that whole area issued by the State this morning. Which is fine, it was too rough to wade fish the surf thus morning. Father's Day it was on fire! 2 man limits in a couple hours. Went to Mouth of Brazos but Sharks were bad & caught 1 25lb big ugly.

How do you keep them out of the grass when drifting? How deep was the water?

Raising your rod tip high towards the sky will have the angle of the hook point at a different directions so It won’t get stuck. Then when you’re popping the croaker you’re really not popping it too hard but actually lifting the bait so it will skip over the Rocks and grass

let me ask you this captain, i see that in a boat in the bay you can post up anywhere but i have hobie kayaks think its worth taking the kayaks out and findind a random spot?

I would if it were me, I see a lot of guys fishing in the bay with kayaks but be careful because a lot of boaters aren’t always paying attention! Stay safe brother and always have fun! Just remember to have a float plan in place to let loved ones know where you launch and where you plan to explore.
