he was only 28/29 here and the explanation for his endless injuries can be seen at 7:53 His knees were distorted beyond recognigtion, literally, back then. This man was abused by the defenders because Futre was so fast with the ball on his feet they had to tackle him. Unlucky guy, even the 1987 Ballon D'Or was stolen from him.

Paulo Futre made the assistances for the West Ham goals. And many more he did that were wasted by his team-mates ... Thanks to KZbin, we would see Futre skills and how Portugal and Europe was so unfair to him. An absolut top class footballer which career some criminals of Spanish "La Liga" destroyed in order to stop him (I invite everyone to see him playing in Spain by his beloved "Atlético Madrid" and,please, tell me afterwards if in some moments was it a football match or, instead, an attempt of murder full of xenophobia. ... (Not here, in Premier League ... where the players of oponents treated Futre with respect and dignity. Thank you England !!!)

Harry Redknap said Futre was one of the best players he've ever seen, that says it all about his quality. It's a shame those days the players didn't had the protection from the referees they have nowadays, great players were tackled mercylessly match after match, otherwise Futre (or Van Basten) woudn't have to end their carreer before 30 years old.

Futre was a genius... Look at his performance in the Euro cup final for Porto 86 against Bayern... Was man of the match and head and shoulders above everybody... Was world footballer of the year runner up.... In those days when u had a player of futres running and dribbling abilities, the opposition would have a mandate, just kick him all the time... This ruined futres career... He was surely one of the greatest ever, much like van basten
