Normally on the higher end properties I've seen luxury realtors break down the sales by price ranges. Certain price ranges have more activity than others. This gives you a more accurate picture of the real-estate market health. The rich are doing just fine in California buying luxury properties. Right now, the luxury homes are skewing the median values for appreciation and sales price. And the middle class? well, they are in trouble right now as the affordability is in the toilet. For sellers right now, the hope is for a Richy Rich to buy their million-dollar junk pile.
