i used to come down here to the raf base to go gliding when I was a teen annoyingly they closed it down.

@@johngilham Was he on the base for anything then I used to go there in the 90's when I was a cadet, I went on a week course when I was 16 so might have come across him if he was there at the same time.

@@johngilham It does sound like it might not have been him, was he in the raf doing the training or a contractor or volunteer a lot were volunteers, the first time I went was when I was 13 when I had just joined, you were allowed to take control and start flying and turning, when I was 16 I was lucky enough to get on the course, I put my name down and didn't think it would get pulled because it was rare to get on them, when I was there I did manage to solo, which was one of the best experiences of my life, not everyone on the course did but most.

It’s possible you were on one of my brothers continuous courses, he was a Senior Civilian Instructor in the RAF Volunteer Reserve.
