I met Maria in 2006 when a friend who runs a WSS website and 1 were invited to Maria's house in L.A.She was lovely and made us so welcome.Gina Trikonis and Rita Hyde (Dance Hall dancer),came along to meet us too. We had a great chat about the film ,and i have never forgotten the kindness that they all showed us. So nice to see Maria looking so well.

No, in the Broadway play Carol Lawrence played the lead Maria. Maria Jiminez Henly in the 1961 film played the Shark dancer Teresita.
